We drove over 2400 miles on our 2 week road trip. Our route was from San Ramon, to Red Bluff, CA, Ashland, OR, Salem OR, Portland OR, Couer D' Alene ID, Missoula MT, Buhl Id, Declo and Burly ID, then home. We saw some great scenery...we have such a beautiful country. I only wish we were able to stop off to sight see but we didn't want to stop too much as it was cold and we didn't want to get the baby in and out of the car and disturb her.
The first picture is of Crater of the Moon. Go to
http://www.nps.gov/crmo/ to learn more. It is miles and miles of lava rocks that form into unique shapes. The lava rocks are from a volcanic eruption from 2000 years ago.

The second picture is of a herd of Elk. We came across them as we were driving south on US Highway 93 through Idaho. There must have been over 50 of them. I have never seen Elk before.
The 3rd and 4th picture is a view from our hotel room in Couer d Alene Idaho. It was absolutely beautiful. We got a deal on the room. The room was gorgeous with a fire place and living room...the town was so cute. I hope we get to visit it again soon. Go to http://www.coeurdalene.org/ to learn more about this town. The last picture is of a rainbow that I saw outside of our friend Bruce's house in Portland. Typical Portland, it was raining on on block and sunny on the next...allowing for a beautiful rainbow to form.
