Princess Festival

In June, I took Sophia and our friend Zoe (who moved in across the street from us a week before we moved in...so lucky) to the Princess Festival   http://princessfestival.com/ at Thanksgiving Point http://www.thanksgivingpoint.org/.  We went on a Thursday 9 - 1 pm, which was perfect to miss the scorching 95 degree weather.

This event was wonderful not only for the 4 year olds but also for the child in me.  Sophia and Zoe dressed up as princesses themselves!   On the way to the festival the two girls were chatting back and forth about what princesses they wanted to meet and what they'd talk to them about.  It was so cute.

Upon arrival the girls received an autograph book and an activity set to play along with the princes, princesses, Kings and Queens.
Pocahontas was one of the first to see

They were in "ah" when they met Belle.  Zoe gave Belle a flower that Belle kept with her throughout the time we were there (when we ran into Belle a few times Zoe would always check to see if Belle still had her flower).

Zoe couldn't quite reach.

Sophia was about ready to explode with excitement when she saw Rapunzel (her "bestest most favoritist princess of them all" - Sophia Attebery).

Snow White

Peter Pan was also a favorite of the girls.  They'd often want to go search for Peter Pan and play with him.  Peter Pan and Captain Hook (forgot to take a picture of Captain Hook) had a sword fight in which Peter won!  The girls that that was "way cool".

Sophia chatting with Tinkerbell.  Wendy is behind Sophia.

The end of our festival was  marked by all of the princesses parading with masquerade masks.  The girls chose to walk with Belle (one reason was because Sophia was too shy to ask Rapunzel if she could walk with her).  Belle asked the girls to walk the parade with her.

I love how Zoe waved her hand like a princess and Sophia walked daintily with her dress.

Zoe had one last talk to Tinkerbell before we leave.  Sophia watched the other princesses walk the parade.

It was such a great event.  It's been over a month and the girls are still talking about everyone they met.  So fun!

I am so happy that I experienced this with them.
